2022 Highlights

• In 2022, the Azerbaijan Society of Maine provided vaccination support to more than 100 individuals — including Azerbaijanis, Russians, Iranians, Iraqis, Albanians, Afghans, Bosnians, and Americans. We’re pleased to have helped these individuals receive their COVID-19 vaccination and booster shots.

• We organized several vaccine clinics and arranged for distribution of hundreds masks, gloves, thermometers and other PPE to 70 households.

• We successfully organized online and in-person outreach and education on COVID-19 and safety, helping our community members cope with isolation and manage their mental well-being.

• We sponsored media and broadcasting campaigns in support of COVID-19 awareness and vaccination. For maximum impact, we produced these outreach efforts in several languages — Azerbaijani, Russian, Arabic, Persian, Albanian, French, Somali, Dari, Pashto, Portuguese and English.

• We provided hundreds boxes of food, household supplies and PPE to the community.

• We assisted community members with social integration and housing needs.
